Biography

Graphic artist and Professor. García studied architecture at Universidad de Puerto Rico (1965-1969), graphics with Antonio Martorell at Taller Alacrán (1968) and post graduate courses at Amherst College, Massachusetts. Currently, he is Professor of Design at the School of Architecture at the Universidad de Puerto Rico. He has received several prizes, such as, First Prize in Printmaking at the United Federal Savings Bank Competition (1975) and First Prize in Printmaking, UNESCO of Puerto Rico (1976). García’s work has been exhibited in and outside Puerto Rico, as in the Museum of the Latin American engraving in San Juan (1972), the national flag of Puerto Rico in Seville, Spain (1992) and several editions of the biennial of San Juan of the Latin American engraving and the Caribbean.
