The Daughters of Governor Don Ramón de Castro, 1797 Oil on canvas

This double portrait is a unique historical testimony of its kind, largely due to the richness of symbolic and ornamental elements it contains. Campeche is considered one of the most outstanding painters of Spanish America in the late 18th century.

(B&W), 2020
Oil on canvas

This painting is part of a series of landscapes created after hurricanes Irma and María struck Puerto Rico in 2017. It is one of the artist's most dramatic series, where the stereotypical exoticism of tourist postcards and media images is altered.
