"Objects of Disconnection" (2011)
Photographer, video artist, painter and creator of site-specific installations and artistic interventions. Has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in Bayamón (2004) and a Master’s degree in Theory and practice of contemporary art, Video Art and Photography from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain (2006). Her works have been exhibited in Puerto Rico, United States, South America and Europe. She was one of 10 finalists in the Luces de America Competition from National Geographic in Spanish, August-2005 Edition. Won second place in the Certamen de Pintura Rápida de Alcalá de Henares, Spain. In 2008 won third prize in the First Edition of Oriental Group’s Certamen de Arte Joven - and was selected as one of the 20 finalists in the International Painting Prize of the Castellón County Council, Spain. In 2009 receives the Lexus Grant for her project Out of Oil which was exhibited in 2010 at Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico. Her work has been reviewed in specialized art publications such as ArtNexus, Art Pulse, Arte al Día, amongst others.
