Biography

Draftswoman and painter. Ordoñez studied art at Universidad de Puerto Rico, the Art Students League and at Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico. She has participated in art events in Puerto Rico, the United States, Cuba and Ecuador. In 1989 she was awarded a grant by Programa de Subvención Básica para las Artes from Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, through funds from the National Endowment for the Arts. Ordoñez has illustrated many children’s books, among them "La peineta roja", by Fernando Pico and "La cucarachita Martina" in versions by Rosario Ferré and Carmen Rivera Izcoa.
