Over the past twenty-five years, the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico has been the recipient of numerous artworks, such generosity has significantly enriched its permanent collection. This quarter century has been marked by the selfless contributions of collectors, artists, patrons, families, public and private institutions committed to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of our country.

Thanks to these donations, the museum today holds one of the most important art collections on the island that reflects a broad diversity of artistic media: painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, printmaking, installation, and ceramics, among others, from the 18th century until today. This variety not only showcases the richness of Puerto Rican artistic practices, but also the vision of the donors, who have recognized the importance of safeguarding and sharing these artworks with present and future generations.

Each donated piece becomes part of a shared legacy, accessible to the public and cared for with the utmost respect. These contributions strengthen our mission to educate, inspire, and connect through art, and remind us that cultural heritage is not only inheritance, it is a shared responsibility.

In this exhibition, the pieces on display will be rotated over the coming months in order to showcase as many artworks as possible from this valuable legacy.

The Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico extends its deepest gratitude to all the donors who, through their generosity, have made possible this 25-year journey of cultural enrichment and commitment to our visual history.
