Painter. In 1985 he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Painting from Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico and in 2000 obtained a Master’s in Arts Management from Universidad del Turabo in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. In recent years he has worked as an art teacher and conservation assistant, which has allowed him to be part of major conservation projects such as the intervention to the Rufino Tamayo mural Prometeo, located at the José M. Lázaro Library at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. He has participated in exhibitions, both solo and collectively, amongst them Mi Viejo San Juan, in 2007. In this exhibition he employed memory as theme and his own experiences in Old San Juan. Memory is a constant theme in the works of the artist.
My works arise from a need to create in complete spiritual freedom, after a profound process of reflection and contemplation of nature and the daily routine environment. I create my work and at the same time investigate about the human condition and latest current events. I give life to my work using various media, such as painting, drawing and the construction of objects (which I call "things") where many interpretations coexist without a unique thematic meaning. Through this I want to suggest, at least within the complexity of the images, a work far from an assertion of an external reality, that the only reality there will be an image with a personal language that reveals the contents, but not loaded with descriptive details. I aspire that forms conceived through my aesthetic experience emerge from a new proposal in harmony with a dialogue of artistic honesty.
