Welcome to the new directory of Puerto Rican and resident artists!

The Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR) established the Artist Assitance Program (PROA) to promote the artistic production of professional Puerto Rican and foreign artists living in Puerto Rico.  To achieve this purpose PROA developes services and creative projects as well as establishes alliances with interested institutions to encourage the artists' development.  The services provided by PROA contribute to encourage the production of works of art and maximize the visibility of Puerto Rican and foreign artists living in Puerto Rico.

Search for heirs or administrators of visual artists

For research and documentation purposes, the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR) is trying to locate the heirs and/or administrators of artists from the MAPR Collection. More info

"RETRATO PERSONAL" PODCAST

The Artist Assistance Program (PROA, by its Spanish acronym) of the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico presents Retrato Personal ("Personal Portrait"), a series of programs in Spanish dedicated to compiling the history of the visual arts in our country through the experiences of its main actors, Puerto Rican artists or foreign artists residing in Puerto Rico.

Bibliographic Archive of Artists

As part of its objective to contribute to the dissemination and study of the work of Puerto Rican visual artists and foreign artists residing in Puerto Rico, the Artist Assistance Program (PROA, by its Spanish acronym) maintains a collection of documents on the life and work of these artists.

The PROA en búsqueda (“PROA in search”) project continually researches and locates new bibliographic resources on the life and work of Puerto Rican visual artists and foreign artists residing in Puerto Rico to make them accessible to the public in the Bibliographic Archive of Artists of the Study and Research Room of the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR).
