Tours
The Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR) offers a great variety of guided tours. The visitor will be able to select the type of tour that will ensure they will have the best experience at the MAPR. They can choose to join one of the general tours offered during the weekends without a previous appointment. Guided tours (no appointment necessary) are offered Saturdays at 10:00 am and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Please call 787.977.6277 ext. 2215 to confirm the tour will be offered. Enjoy tours through the MAPR by prior appointment without an additional charge to the MAPR entrance fee. Tours are offered in Spanish and English or with sign language interpreters. They are directed toward the general public as well as school and university groups. You can request your guided tour by filling out the Guided Tour Request online or you can call 787.977.6277 ext. 2230.

The sculpture botanical garden offers a wonderful opportunity for families who want a self-guided tour of the MAPR’s garden with the brochure El jardín: un pulmón verde en la ciudad (The Garden: a green lung in the city brochure in English will be available soon online and at the Information Center.). The MAPR Garden boasts 14 large-format sculptures from some of the most distinguished artists in this medium in Puerto Rico to create an inspiring open air exhibition in the heart of the Island’s capital. In addition to the sculptures, the garden spans 2.5 acres in which families enjoy the beauty of a pond brimming with aquatic plants and flowers, Koi goldfish, ducks and swans, as well as other representative species of tropical flora and fauna, including native trees of Puerto Rico.
Guided Tours for Students
The MAPR offers guided tours for students inspired n the permanent collection and the exhibitions. These tours can be adapted or customized for students of all levels and any basic school topic. Choose and reserve your selected tour using the form Request for guided tours.
Guided tour inspired in the permanent collection These tours encourage the appreciation, enjoyment and learning of Puerto Rican and international visual arts when they visit the art galleries and the Sculpture Botanical Garden.
Adapted guided tour Offered to students with special need with the options of tactile tours or descriptive talks through the galleries, works of art reproduced for tactile reading, large print text and braille.
Design your own tour the school group can design their own guided tour with MAPR Educators by completing the Request for guided tours.
Guided tours with educational workshop are offered by educators and professionals in the visual arts that have a direct relation with the topics presented during the guided tour. The workshops are optional and can be requested when you complete the Request for guided tours.
