Sculptor, draftswoman, painter and potter. She completed two bachelor's degrees in fine arts, one in 1982 from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus and another in 2010 with specializations in painting and sculpture from the School of Plastic Arts of Puerto Rico. In 2003 she took specialized courses in ceramics and in the studio of Toni Hambleton. She was Executive Director of the San Juan Art League. Currently she is an independent artist and works as a ceramics teacher at Estudio 154. She has participated in various exhibitions in Puerto Rico, the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and the Netherlands. Her work is part of the public art project called the Collection of Contemporary Puerto Rican Ceramics, of the Laguna National Park of the Jaime Benítez County. In her work, Prats focuses on the sculptural, especially ceramics, but she also works with other media, such as wax and cement.
"I am interested in the juxtaposition of materials, the contradictions where present and past, fragile and strong coexist. I am matérica (use of untraditional materials), of process, and the dialogue is always internal. I comment on the mundane, the body and life."
